Working Electrode; The potential value varies depending on the concentration of ingredient of the measured solution.


It is a source for electronic exchange of molecules, with the purpose of allowing current to flow in electrode reactions.


The reaction from the electrodes is sometimes referred to as the cathode / anode depending on the oxidation / reduction reaction.

A suitable working electrode is subject to a number of conditions, It depends on the range of potential available and the kinetic of the electronic transmission response.



The criteria for selecting Working Electrode are as follows.

- Carbon materials are nonmetallic, but with good electrical and thermal conductors, corrosion resistant and heat resistant is very superior

- Can be used in various experiments as potential windows are wide in the direction of oxidation and reduction.

- Carbon electrodes can scan more negative potential than platinum or gold.
